NOTICE: This File Access Manager Introduction v8.0 class has been superseded by a new version. All students should take the latest version of this course unless there is a specific need to learn this version.

This course provides an overview of SailPoint’s IdentityIQ: File Access Manager product. File Access Manager helps organizations perform identity governance over their unstructured data resources.

It is ideal for anyone who is looking to gain a basic understanding of the features and capabilities provided by File Access Manager and the specific functions offered to different categories of system users.

This self-paced course is the prerequisite for the File Access Manager Implementation and Administration: Essentials course.

Topics Covered

  • Product Introduction
  • Basic User Functions
  • Data Owner Functions
  • Compliance Officer Functions
  • Auditor Functions
  • Administrator Functions

The course is composed of six video lessons. The first is an overview of business needs in this space and how the product addresses them. The remaining five are videos showing the product features offered to each of the five major user classes: basic users, data owners, compliance officers, auditors, and administrators. All students should view at least the first two video modules (overview and basic users). The remaining four videos are provided to educate users with different types of elevated permissions about the system data, functions, and responsibilities that accompany those permissions.

Next Steps: After completing this course, the next step to learning more about File Access Manager is the File Access Manager Implementation and Administration: Essentials course, which teaches the breadth of the File Access Manager product functionality.
