This self-paced eLearning course provides an overview of SailPoint IdentityNow, a cloud-based identity and access management solution. The self-paced course is ideal for anyone looking to gain a basic understanding of the features and capabilities provided by IdentityNow.


The course consists of five modules, with a total duration of approximately 2 hours.


Each module consists of a set of eLearning lessons that range in length from 5 to 15 minutes. To emphasize important concepts and to aid in retention, each lesson includes knowledge check questions. These questions are not graded.

This course provides detailed overviews of the following topics:

Module 1: Overview

The lessons in this module provide an overview of identity management concepts, and introduce you to basic terms, concepts, and benefits of SailPoint's IdentityNow product.

Module 2: IdentityNow Architecture

The lessons in this module describe the architecture of this Software as a Service (SaaS) product. In addition to the general architecture, topics also include microservices, virtual appliances, and the release lifecycle.

Module 3: Identity Model 

The lessons in this module define the core concepts of building identities and reading data (aggregating) from your source systems.

Module 4: Access and Governance Operations 

The lessons in this module start by defining concepts key for modeling access: roles, access profiles, lifecycle states, and entitlements. With access modeling as a foundation, additional topics include overviews of access requests, access certifications, provisioning, and password management.

Module 5: IdentityNow Security

The lessons in this module include overviews of the following topics: authentication, IdentityNow authorization levels, data privacy, encryption, and auditing.
